WHO WE ARE
Grace Elderly Care International (GECI) is a 100% volunteer-led nonprofit serving vulnerable elderly people in Ethiopia.
Since 2021, we have supported 100+ elders through monthly cash assistance, home repairs, emergency shelter, and community support, reaching those who have no family, no income, and no safety net.
THE CRISIS WE’RE SOLVING
In Ethiopia, thousands of elderly people face life-threatening malnutrition. Many are homeless, living in unsafe conditions, or surviving by begging door-to-door. With no family support and little to no government assistance, they are among the country’s most forgotten people.
These are grandparents who spent decades building their communities and caring for others. They deserve dignity, security, and compassion in their final years.
GECI exists to ensure no elder dies hungry or forgotten.
HOW WE HELP
GECI serves Ethiopia’s most vulnerable elders through four integrated programs:
MONTHLY CASH ALLOWANCES
Direct financial support enabling elders to purchase nutritious food. $20 provides a full month of meals while preserving dignity
and autonomy.
HOME REPAIRS
Partner with local volunteers to repair uninhabitable homes, creating safe and dignified living conditions for vulnerable seniors.
TEMPORARY SHELTER
Provide emergency housing for homeless elders.
VOLUNTEER MOBILIZATION
Organize and support local Ethiopian volunteers who provide ongoing assistance, companionship, and community connection.
