Poor nutritional status and malnutrition in the elderly population are important areas of concern. Malnutrition contributes to progressive declines in health, reduced physical and cognitive functional status, and increased mortality.
Malnutrition among older people in Ethiopia is extremely high. Many are homeless or live in uninhabitable homes, scavenge their living on the streets, and some are reduced to pleading for food by going door-to-door.
Grace Elderly Care International, Inc. programs are aimed at enhancing the well-being of malnourished older people in Ethiopia.
